So is reporting from the middle east and Asia and covered the assassination of Benazir Bhutto earlier this year as he was in Pakistan at the time. His reports of the assassination and funeral were broadcast across the globe.Oct meeting 066.jpgSteve then went on to officially unveil the launch of the February 2009 Sefton Business Awards and Prestige Ball event. All six awards plus these two new ones will be available via the website of the Chamber office from Monday 6th October where businesses can receive the award entry forms and the two submission forms for the two new awards.  It was unveiled that as of Thursday 2nd the Prestige Ball already had 170 tickets committed, and in the following 24 hours another 30 tickets have been booked.  To enter the awards process you do not have to book tickets at this stage and after the first round of judging in early January the finalists will be notified if they have not booked and a quantity of tickets are always held back for these businesses.

John Cook and Tony Bradshaw from the BSB Management Groups, reviewed the vacant categories in the group and the benefits in incremental sales from being within the BSB Membership.

 

Oct meeting 0571.jpgMany members used the open mic session to update the room on current issues and opportunities and the significant song was Abba’s Money Money Money to close the meeting, HOWEVER a slip of the button by Steve ended up playing Dancing Queen!…. to much hilarity angled at him.

The next meeting has already got bookings in place which is at the New Ramada Plaza Hotel, Promenade, Southport on Thursday 6th November 2008.
