Successful companies which trade internationally do their homework, and readily attest to the importance of understanding the market before getting wading into water that’s deeper and colder than they had imagined. The Overseas Market Introduction Service is a subsidised service provided by the extensive network of British Embassies, and their local knowledge and facilities are available to all organisations which need something done in a  remote location. OMIS can undertake research for you, and generate warmed leads to contact and visit. However, it also offers more than just providing lists of potential distributors/agents.  It is now a very flexible tool, a platform for doing all sorts of work on a customer’s behalf.  This work could be hosting a reception or dinner in market, holding a product launch, arranging programmes, working with media in market to help provide PR etc., etc. For more information about OMIS, or any aspect of exporting, contact your International Trade Advisor at the Chamber.
